Building Resilience in the Midst of a Global Pandemic The current COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most tumultuous periods in recent human history. With so much uncertainty and angst in the air, what can one do to foster and build individual and team resilience? This discussion with Dr. Faizan Imtiaz will explore the field of Sport Psychology and how elite performers leverage stress and uncertainty to heighten performance in pressure-laden situations, and how we can apply these same tactics within our own lives. Speakers Profile: Dr. Faizan Imtiaz is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Psychology at Towson University in Maryland. His research interests include individual and team resilience, organizational culture, and group dynamics. His teaching portfolio includes work at both the graduate and undergraduate level, and across a diverse range of topics including Resilience, Leadership, and Diversity in the Workplace. Finally, his industry experience aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research in psychology and how it can be applied to enhance performance and productivity in domains such as business, sport, the military, and academia. Dr. Imtiaz received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Queen’s University in Canada, where he also completed his M.Sc. in Sport Psychology. Prior to that, he completed a B.Sc. at McMaster University in Canada, where he also played on the Varsity Football team.
